the basics
Name || Keigan Dale Kavanaugh
Nicknames || Keig
Age || Twenty-One
Birthday || December 31st
Major/Career || Fine Arts (Photography)
Gender || Male
Sexuality || Pansexual
the appearance
Face Claim || Amadeus Serafini
Height & Weight || 6'0", 198lbs
Identifying Features || Keigan has a small mole on the right side of his neck and another on the left side of his nose
Overall || Keigan is tall and lean, with sandy, blonde-brown hair that is frequently combed over or left to fall as it may. It's not often he allows his facial hair to grow beyond a well-manicured goatee. His wardrobe consists primarily of laidback pieces that he finds comfortable, including relaxed-fit dark wash denim and tees with band logos. He can be stylish when he wishes, but he's never went beyond business casual when it comes to being fancy. He prefers muted tones over all things rainbow, though he doesn't mind the occasional pop of color. The man genuinely enjoys cardigans and other loose fitting garments that are warm and comfy, which tends to lead to his looking like a potato. He's fine with looking like a potato, though. He's not one to preen unless he has a hot date, though he does have a habit of running his fingers through his hair when he's thinking.
the personality
Likes || Espresso, autumn, scarves, pizazz, taco Tuesdays
Dislikes || Narcissists, smoke, cilantro, rain, being wrong
Strengths || Openness, honesty, resourceful, visionary
Weaknesses || Sarcastic, disrespectful, irresponsible, hedonistic
Dreams || To travel the world
Fears || Being stuck in one place forever
Overall || Keigan is a very adventurous soul who doesn't wish to stay in one place for long. Because it takes money to travel, he's also fairly industrious; he's willing to work to get the funds to propel him into the world, but he's also willing to work hard to get the perfect shot. He's extremely friendly and willing to talk to anyone and everyone, though he's incredibly blunt and tends to have no filter. He's keen on being honest and letting everyone know just how he's feeling, which is great when he's content and loves your new hair cut but not too great when the opposite is true. Of course, he can be sensitive to some matters, but ultimately he typically just doesn't care. Honesty can win him friends and the enemies it earns are inconsequential.
The youth tends to have some disdain toward authority but respects those who respect him. This same policy applies to people of all ages in all positions in life. He wants to treat everyone equally, fairly, but when he is mistreated he's not afraid to step on the toes of others. Keigan is a creative mind who has limitless innovation and ingenuity, though it's hard for him to turn this back. It has created a thoughtful sort of broodiness that can be hard to cope with if you're not used to his typical moods. Keig tends to be a serious person as well, which means he's not always the best choice for your high-energy party. A low key get together, however, can be his forte.
the history
Father || Dale James Kavanaugh
Mother || Patricia Marie Parks-Kavanaugh
Siblings || John, 31. Alice, 26. Franklin, 23.
Home State || Michigan
History || Keigan was born in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, son of a woman who made the best biscuits this side of the Mississippi and a businessman who claimed he knew what was best for her. Keigan Dale was the youngest of the children born to the couple and perhaps the most unruly, causing trouble since the day he left the womb. While most of this trouble was caused without malice, Keigan's father was a strict disciplinarian. The man wanted his children to behave at all times, but that never seemed to settle well with his little free spirit. Naturally, Keigan grew fond of his mother, who tried to cover for her son and his mischevious ways. Had he stopped causing trouble, it would have been because she'd asked - she simply never had.
Keigan's years in elementary school were pretty straightforward; the boy was labelled an oddball, but he didn't mind. Truly, he preferred being outcast from the rest of the children; he didn't like to play, he liked to learn. He took his schooling very seriously, as he would be disciplined at home if he didn't. Keigan struggled to meet most of the marks his father set for him, but as he worried about his grades he was also suffocated by the shadows cast by his older siblings. All of them were trying to meet their father's expectations, but Keigan found it to be too tedious.
Things started slipping for the youngest Kavanaugh when he got into middle school. Puberty only made the boy less willing to socialize with others and more willing to disobey his father, which certainly didn't bode well. The boy began to let his grades slip in an act of defiance, which lead to an even rockier relationship with his father. It wasn't until Keigan learned how much he desperately wanted to get away that he began trying once more, which began around eigth grade.
Once high school started, Keigan began working at being a try-hard. His father was remotely appeased by his efforts, though in truth, he was more preoccupied with promotions and his other children who could excel without a second thought. Keigan made sure to join a variety of clubs just to beef up his resume and began putting himself out there, if only to gain some study buddies. Things began looking up around his sophomore year when he found some friends that seemed to understand his plight. One of them allowed him to borrow her camera and convinced him to join the photography club, which sparked his interest in photography. Later, he and this friend became more intimate, eventually leading to a road trip with she and her family to Northern Michigan. Keigan fell in love with the natural landscapes and more obsessed with photography, going so far as to convince his father to buy him a camera.
Knowing he wanted to travel and hoping to get out to the Pacific some day, Keigan began looking at colleges that would satisfy his desire for being a photographer and getting away from home. Copper Harbor seemed like an alright choice and so he applied; shortly after recieving his acceptance letter he decided he would be attending. His mother was scarcely pleased with his decision, but his father seemed happy for it, even offering to pay for travel expenses.
With some well-wishing, Keigan was sent off to Copper Harbor from the Detroit Airport. There, he said goodbye to his friends who inspired him and began to mold who he wanted to develop into later in life. Upon arriving at college, Keigan vowed to put himself out there and get involved once more, though he also made an agreement to himself that he would stop holding back.
