"Paislee, not again, please..." she pleaded into the phone. Elianna glanced down at the toddler wrapped around her ankle, and grinned, as if nothing was wrong. "Fine. But you owe me," she said. Ellie hung up the phone, annoyed that her cousin wasn't coming for her daughter this morning, yet again. She leaned down and scooped up the three-year old, and hugged her tight. "Wanna go to breakfast?" she asked the little girl. Aurora nodded, and did her best to give Ellie a hug. Elianna was used to Paislee not being around as much as she should be for Aurora. It was almost an everyday thing. The little girl was lucky to have Ellie in her life. Ellie had been the primary caretaker of Aurora since she was born. It was kind of a role she had stumbled into being as close as she was with Paislee. Despite their differences, they had been best friends since birth. It helped that they were cousins, and had been forced together from a young age. But Elianna was happy she was Aurora's stable person. It was almost like the little girl was her own daughter, without the hassle of actually giving birth. And the little girl adored Ellie as much as Ellie adored the little girl.
'Just the two of you?' The waitress asked a moment after the pair walked in. Ellie nodded at her, and then led Aurora down towards a booth after the waitress. 'What can I get you two to drink?' the waitress asked. "Chocolate milk for the little one, and a coffee for me, no creamer," she said. The waitress wrote down everything and walked away from the table. Ellie grabbed the crayons and paper the waitress had left and set them in front of Aurora. The little girl began to color, lost in her own world. Ellie smiled at her,and wished her cousin were there to see it. Paislee had missed out on so much of Aurora's life. She wasn't even there when Aurora had taken her first steps. Aurora had walked right into Ellie's arms.
The waitress came back and set the drinks down in front of the pair. "We need a little bit still," she said, not ready to order her food yet. She didn't have anything else planned for the day, well except for studying. But she planned on spending some time at the restaurant to entertain the three year old. Luckily, the toddler had more patience than most. She'd be content with coloring almost all day long if she was allowed. Elianna leaned over to kiss Aurora on the top of the head, and squeezed her closer in the booth they shared. Elianna didn't trust Aurora enough to let her sit on the opposite side of the table from her. The little girl was an escape artist, when she wanted to be.

~~ The strangers in this town ~~ Mornings were not Boyd's favorite pert of his day. He had spent the night watch any and every movie he could. Some he had seen before, others were brand new to him. Either way, his marathon lead to a lack of sleep. This was nothing new for the twenty year old. He had this habit of watch too much tv and it resulted in him doing projects and studying last minute and him falling asleep in very inaproite places during the day. He used cofee to make sure that happened as little as possible.
He scratched his head as he entered. He hadn't seen anyone closed the door and honestly wasn't sure if he could take a seat himself if it were just him. Like clockwork, a girl dressed in the establishments uniform appeared in front of him. "By yourself?" His eyes went wide for a second. He was tired, and anything could surprise him until he got food and coffee into his system. "Just me," Boyd confirmed as he adjusts the single strap of his book bag on his shoulder. The waitress nodded and gestured for him to follow her. He gladly followed the girl.
Boyd didn't always watch his feet as he walked. If he did, he was probably thinking about something. Today was not like that. He had just happened to be looking down in time to see a blue crayon fall on to the crayon. His eyes then adjusted up to see just where this crayon came from. Boyd bent down to pick up the crayon. He turned his wait on the balls of his feet as he turned to face the table and remained eye level with the little girl. "You can't loose blue," he held the crayon up before placing it down on the table, "It's the most important color. It's for the sky and those with blue eyes."

Elianna had practically raised Aurora from the time she was born. Paislee had been around for the little girl's life, but she wasn't quite the mother figure she should be. Elianna had stepped into the role as soon as Aurora was born. It wasn't on purpose, but she didn't regret doing it. The little girl next to her was her life. She'd do anything for her. She was glad she was there, because who knows where Aurora would be if she wasn't. Paislee tried to be a good mom, sometimes. But most of the time, she was focused on her own life. Elianna loved Paislee, but she didn't understand her most of the time.
Aurora watched the crayon roll off the table, and then looked up at the boy who was handing it back to her. Elianna nudged her. "What do you say?" she asked. Aurora turned her head towards Elianna and then back to the boy. "Thank you," she whispered. Elianna smiled, and nodded to the boy in agreement. Feeling friendly, and unsure of what to do in this situation, she gestured to the seat across from them. "Join us?" she offered. It was unlike her, but she wasn't sure what it could hurt. He seemed charming enough, especially if he was willing to talk to a three year old.
"I'm Elianna," she introduced herself. "And this is Aurora."
