Gia could sense the sarcasm in his voice when he wished her luck and her frowned. What you don't think these bad boys could take you? she said lifting her arms up and flexing. She was small but you could tell that she was strong, at least for her size. Truth be told Gia had never been in a physical fight in her life and probably couldn't take any one on. what am I kidding unless its a dance battle i'm not winning any fights she laughed.
Anything, Bring it on she challenged. Gia was never one to back down from a challenged. Even if he was to request something strange and out of this world she would do her best to produce it. It may mean ordering take out and laughing at her miserable failure but she would at least give it her best try. Sure the restaurant was starting to empty but unless he told her too she wasn't planning on switching seats, now that she was actually enjoying herself.
It's here in Washington she stated, it was back in her home town which was only about a hour away. It needs a lot of work with the building, I'm not sure it will ever get where I want it to be she said with a small sigh. It was a stupid impulse buy she said. It was like all of a sudden she had all this money and she wanted to do something to honor her parents who had always been there for her. She hadn't thought about how much more money it would take to start from complete scratch.
Well who knows maybe we will end up in New York together she said. They had just met so it was more of just a fun and interesting thought, that strangers just meeting could meet again in a totally different location. How was she to know that this would not be the last time she saw him. Not that I have any plans on getting in trouble with the law, I know its a shocker I scream trouble maker she said.
Garrett laughed. "Impressive, but no," he said. With the right moves and skills though, she might be able to take down someone with less training than he had. "You'd definitely beat me at a dance battle," he said. He couldn't dance if his life depended on it. If he ever had to dance, it was him shuffling from side to side. But that was a rare sight to see. The last time he could remember dancing was back when he was in high school at prom. His senior year.
"I'll think of something, I'm sure," he joked. In reality, he probably wouldn't make her cook anything too fancy. But he could spice up his diet a little bit. Something other than ramen noodles and coffee, that is. He didn't have any trouble affording food. It was just the cooking that bothered him. He could burn things in an instant. Or he'd forget that he was cooking. He had left the house once with the oven cooking chicken. Luckily, nothing had happened from that incident, but he was still a bit more cautious when he ever actually did cook. Mostly, he stuck to the microwave.
A building was a lot of work on it's own. And owning a business was even more. Garrett definitely didn't think he'd be able to handle the responsibilities that came with it, but he knew he'd love the freedom. He gave her props, though, for following her dreams. Not everyone was able to do that. "Impulse buys aren't always bad. I'm sure you'll figure out what you want to do with it. Or you'll sell it," he grinned. He thought for a moment that he'd be able to come down to help her, but decided against offering. He had just met the girl, after all.
He raised his eyebrow. Being in New York with her probably wouldn't be so bad, but it was still a bit too early to tell. "Maybe," he said, being short with her again. They could potentially never see each other again. Though he planned to get her number. "I wouldn't recommend getting on that side of me," he said, smirking. "But I can definitely see the trouble in you".

Gia let out a disappointed sigh Well I at least tried, have to give me some credit she said shaking her head. What you don't dance? she asked. Garrett looked like a guy that would look pretty attractive in a suit and as a dance partner, the vision flashing in her mind. Gia loved a guy that would dance with her but was never actually interested in a guy who was a dancer. Most male dancers she avoided like the plague, they were gay or had big ego's rarely was there anything in between. Her father was the type of guy that hated dancing, he had two left feet and most of the time refused to dance even at his own wedding he only did one dance with Gia's mother. He did however attend a father daughter dance when she was little. Of course little Gia had been very critical of his dancing.
At the very least it's a learning experience and who knows if dancing doesn't work out maybe I could be a Handy Woman. she said with a laugh. It was a lot of work fixing it up but it was also fun. So far they had worked on a few structure issues and electric and were just getting ready to do the interior work and other cosmetic work. She had hired professionals to do a lot of the work but also was learning how to do some of it herself, at least she was learning a new skill.
Gia had the perfect good girl act going on but deep down inside of her there was a wild child just screaming to come out. One of these days she would probably get herself in trouble. Do something crazy that was totally unlike her. Dance drunkenly on some tables and have to be escorted out. Ya that would be her because she could not hold her liquor and she loved to drink. Flirt a little to much with the cop escorting her out. I don't know you don't look that scary she said of course joking. Sure right now she was getting this attractive somewhat nice guy but she could tell that he was not someone to mess with and get on his bad side. Oh come on I've never been in trouble my whole life, I was never even grounded as a kid she said. Of course if her parents had caught her sneaking out as a teenager in the middle of the night she would have been, or maybe not...she was always their little girl and extremely spoiled.
He got short with her quickly again, she noticed it and shook it off. Jeesh it wasn't like she was insinuating they should go together, just that they both might just end up there. I mean we could even get a place together she said being sarcastic of course, just giving him a little scare and tease him with his shortness. She looked him dead in the eyes, trying not to laugh. Im just kidding she said taking a bite of her omlette, by now it was almost finished.
Garrett shook his head. "Wouldn't know my left foot from my right out on a dance floor," he said. There was no way he'd get out and try to dance, especially not on his own. It wasn't a thought that had ever crossed his mind. Sure, football players danced, but he wasn't a football player, and he wasn't a dancer. It wasn't that it was unmanly to dance, or anything. He wasn't worried about any of that. He just didn't like to dance, and didn't care much to learn how.
He laughed. "That might work out in your favor," he said. "Being a handy woman wouldn't be a bad thing." He knew a little bit about working on things. He learned from his dad when he was young. It was a skill his father believed he should have for the future, and so far it had helped him out quite a bit. It kept him from having to call an electrician or someone of the sort whenever something went wrong. Garrett also knew how to work on cars, but that wasn't something he was just about to tell someone. Usually if he mentioned it, they assumed he meant that he would work for free. And he didn't like putting his skills to use for nothing in return. Unless, of course, it was a favor to a friend.
Garrett winked at her. "There's a little bit of trouble in you somewhere, though," he said. "Even Miss Perfect has her bad side." She had the good girl act down, but Garrett knew she could be trouble. Especially trouble for him. With her good looks, and her charm, he was sure she was going to be apart of his life, somehow. For some reason, he had a feeling she was going to be sticking around. He laughed at her comment about getting a place together. "Sure, sounds great," he said, jokingly. He nodded when she said she was kidding. He knew she hadn't been serious. He took a couple more bites of his omelette, finishing up. The waitress came by and took his empty plate from him and set down the bills in front of the pair. Garrett picked up his, and hers, deciding he was going to pay for both.
